Jesus Calls Philip and Nathanael

The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said to him, “Follow me.”

Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote – Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

“Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked.

“Come and see,” said Philip.

When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, “Here is a true Israelite, in whom there is nothing false.”

“How do you know me?” Nathanael asked.

Jesus answered, “I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you.”

Then Nathanael declared, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.”

Jesus said, “You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You shall see greater things than that.” He then added, “I tell you the truth, you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”

John 1:43-51 (NIV)

To my Nathanael,

I pray that you will believe in the greatness of your Savior, Jesus. That when He calls on you, you will follow Him.

Love,

Mommy

Showered by my co-workers…

I work with some of the coolest people around. Just a few weeks ago, I was given a “surprise” shower by my co-workers. It wasn’t really a surprise shower. I knew it was happening and when. Since I had some sick days here and there, they wanted to tell me ahead of time so that I’d be sure to show up. Boy, am I glad I made it. It was one of my most memorable moments I’ve had at work and I felt so honored to have worked with such amazing people over the years. It was so special. Also, even though I knew I was having a shower, what I didn’t know was that I would have some “surprise” guests, like my hubby and my mom!

Showered with LOVE…

Back in August, my sweet sister-in-laws, Kathy and Anne, along with my mother-in-law, Sharon, threw me an intimate and memorable baby shower. I am so happy my little boy will be surrounded by such loving women.

Aunt Anne shared a touching devotional for Nathanael.

Each verse reminded me to point my son toward Jesus, to help nurture a relationship with his Savior.

And, each verse came with a gift!
