Hello, there. We were out of town at the end of June into the first week of July.
Here are some pictures from our trip to the Midwest!
Ready to board the plane!
Nathanael DID NOT like going up, but once he fell asleep…
…he stayed asleep for the whole flight. Phew!
We made it to our fist stop, Chicago, and stayed for two nights.
Here, Phil and his mom are happily reunited and enjoy the architectural boat cruise.
Chicago has a lot of neat looking buildings!
This building was in one of the Batman movies!
Even though there was a time change, Nathanael was in good spirits.
He loves being with his daddy!
Grandpa enjoys the history of the architecture and retains a lot more information than any of us!
We spent time with family, Emmanuel and Amanda, and got to meet their darling little girl, Ailish.
She is gorgeous!
Emmanuel and Amanda showed us around downtown.
We walked quite a bit so we needed to get some cold beverages.
Emmanuel guarded the babies while we got some yummy iced tea!
The boys and Ailish stopped for a photo while we enjoyed the courtyard of an old church.
Phil and Ailish
After our walk, we spent some time in the park near Emmanuel and Amanda’s apartment.
Nathanael and Ailish liked getting aquainted.
Isn’t she adorable!?
Amanda showed us some yoga poses she teaches in her “Parent and Me Class”!
…my boys.
The next day, we went to Wildberry Pancakes for breakfast.
It’s quite a popular place and worth the wait!
…helping Grandpa decide what to get.
YUM!
Ailish came in style!
…sleepy, but cute!
Amanda and Grandma enjoying the spritz of the water fountain down by the river.
Nathanael taking a walk with Daddy and Grandpa.
I think we can all agree that Emmanuel and Amanda are way cooler than us…
…yup, this picture of Philip and I proves it.
Phil and his dad stopping for a chat with Bob Newhart.
Heading to Navy Pier…
…for a REAL Chicago dog.
After hitting the town, we went back to Emmanuel and Amanda’s place to change into our swim suits.
We went swimming on the roof of their building!
Look at the view. Wow.
And guess who loved every minute of being in the water!?
Yup, that’s my boy.
Splashing nonstop!
We thoroughly enjoyed you, Chicago!
Up next…
Michigan!
